Jennifer Aniston, thank you for helping to clarify my thoughts on COVID-19 vaccines

In an interview with In Style magazine, COVID-19 vaccinated actress Jennifer Aniston lamented that she recently had to cut-off people from her “weekly routine” who could not (or would not) confirm they had received a COVID-19 vaccination.
As to why she would sever contact with the unvaccinated even though she is vaccinated herself, Anniston shared her logic on Instagram:
“I may get slightly sick but I will not be admitted to a hospital and/or die, BUT I CAN give it to someone who does not have the vaccine and whose health is compromised (or has a previous existing condition) — and therefore I would put their lives at risk. THAT is why I worry. We have to care about more than just ourselves.”
Her rationale is sound. And as I am not an anti-vaxxer by any definition—I received the Moderna vaccination within the week of my eligibility (by New Jersey guidelines), and had my teenage son do the same once he was eligible — it is hard for me to easily dismiss Aniston’s decision to limit contact with the unvaccinated.
Nonetheless, I will offer this short thought exercise as a tempered rebuttal.
